Dental Implant Costs in Reseda: 2026 Pricing Guide

Ask three different offices in the Valley what a dental implant costs and you will probably hear three different numbers, sometimes thousands of dollars apart. For a lot of our Reseda neighbors, that is where the process stalls. The quotes feel random, nobody explains what is actually included, and it starts to seem safer to just keep chewing on the other side of your mouth.

This article is our attempt at a straight answer. We are not going to print a price, because any office that quotes you a firm number before looking in your mouth is guessing. What we can do is show you exactly what drives the fee up or down, why two quotes for the same tooth can differ so much, what insurance and Denti-Cal will and will not do for you, and how families from Reseda, Tarzana, Winnetka and Northridge actually make this affordable.

Want a real number instead of an internet estimate? The only honest quote comes from an exam and imaging. Call our Reseda office at (818) 343-4024 and we will tell you exactly what your case involves and what it will cost before anything is scheduled.

Why One Implant Does Not Have One Price

A dental implant is not a single product. It is a small construction project with three parts and several appointments, and each part carries its own fee.

  • The implant post itself. A titanium anchor placed in the jawbone during a minor surgical procedure. This is the part most people picture when they hear the word implant.
  • The abutment. A connector piece that links the post to the visible tooth. It is small, but it is a separate component with a separate cost.
  • The crown. The custom ceramic tooth that gets all the compliments. It is designed and shaded to match your other teeth and is usually billed like any other dental crown.

On top of those three components sit the things that make the surgery safe and predictable: the exam, three dimensional imaging, the surgical appointment itself, anesthesia, and follow up visits while the site heals. When a quote looks suspiciously low, it is very often the price of the post alone, with the abutment, crown and imaging waiting for you later as surprises. That single practice explains most of the wild price differences people run into.

The Factors That Move Your Quote Up or Down

How many teeth are being replaced

A single missing molar is the simplest version of this treatment. Replacing several teeth changes the math, though not always the way people expect. Multiple neighboring teeth can often share implants under a bridge, and a full arch can be supported by a small number of strategically placed posts rather than one implant per tooth. More teeth means a higher total, but rarely a simple multiplication.

The condition of your jawbone

Bone is the foundation of the whole project. When a tooth has been missing for years, the bone that used to hold it slowly shrinks, and some patients need a graft to rebuild enough thickness before an implant can be placed. Grafting adds a procedure and healing time, which adds cost. Patients who lost a tooth recently often skip this step entirely, which is one more argument for not waiting a decade to deal with a gap.

Whether the tooth is still in your mouth

Plenty of implant cases start with a failing tooth rather than an empty space. If the tooth needs to come out first, a tooth extraction is part of the plan, and sometimes the implant can be placed the same day the tooth is removed. Whether that is possible depends on infection and bone quality, and it affects both the timeline and the total.

Where the tooth sits in your smile

A front tooth is unforgiving. The gum line, the shape and the shade all have to be perfect, because everyone will see the result every time you speak. That level of cosmetic precision takes more planning and lab artistry than a back molar nobody sees, and the fee can reflect it.

Materials and the lab behind the crown

Not all crowns are made in the same place or from the same ceramic. Offices using quality components and skilled dental labs pay more for them, and that shows up in the quote. It also shows up years later, when the crown still looks like a tooth instead of a chiclet.

The Insurance Reality, Including Denti-Cal

Here is the part most websites tiptoe around, so let us be direct.

Private dental insurance

Many PPO plans now contribute something toward implant treatment, which was not true a decade ago. But contribute is the right word. Dental plans carry yearly maximums that have barely changed since the 1970s, and an implant case can reach that ceiling quickly. Insurance also frequently covers the crown portion differently than the surgical portion. Our front desk verifies your specific benefits before treatment so the numbers on your plan are real, not hopeful.

Denti-Cal and what it means for implant patients

A lot of our neighbors in Reseda and across the San Fernando Valley have Denti-Cal, the dental arm of Medi-Cal. Denti-Cal generally does not cover dental implants for adults. Outside of rare cases involving documented medical necessity, implant treatment is simply not a listed benefit, and it is better to hear that plainly at the start than to discover it after months of planning.

That does not mean a missing tooth goes untreated. Denti-Cal does help with other tooth replacement options in many situations, including dentures and partials, and covered extractions when a tooth cannot be saved. Some patients choose a covered option now and revisit implants later when their finances allow. Others pay for the implant privately and use their coverage for everything around it. There is a workable path in almost every case, but it starts with an honest conversation about what your coverage actually does.

If you have no dental coverage at all

You are far from alone, and you should still come in for the exam. Knowing exactly what your mouth needs costs very little, and it converts a vague fear into a concrete plan you can budget around.

How Reseda Families Actually Pay for Implants

Very few of our implant patients write one large check. The common approaches look like this.

  • Phasing the treatment. An implant case naturally spreads across months because the bone needs time to heal. That means the cost spreads out too, stage by stage, rather than landing all at once.
  • Monthly payment arrangements. Third party healthcare financing breaks treatment into monthly payments, and our coordinators can walk you through the options and what approval involves.
  • Using benefits across plan years. When insurance is involved, scheduling stages across two calendar years can let two annual maximums contribute instead of one. It is a simple bit of timing that patients rarely hear about.
  • FSA and HSA dollars. Implant treatment is the kind of large, plannable expense those accounts were designed for. If open enrollment is coming up, this belongs in your math.

How to Compare Quotes Without Getting Burned

If you are gathering opinions from more than one office, and for a big decision you should feel free to, put every quote through the same five questions.

  1. Does this number include the post, the abutment and the crown, or only the post?
  2. Is three dimensional imaging included, and has it actually been taken?
  3. If I need an extraction or a bone graft, is that priced in this plan or will it appear later?
  4. Who makes the crown, and what is it made of?
  5. What happens, and what does it cost, if something needs adjustment during healing?

An office with nothing to hide will answer all five without flinching. The cheapest quote in the Valley is not a bargain if half the treatment is missing from the page.

The Cost Question Behind the Cost Question

When patients ask what an implant costs, the honest comparison is not implant versus nothing. A missing tooth has its own price tag. Neighboring teeth drift into the gap and change your bite. The bone under the space shrinks. The tooth above or below the gap begins to over erupt. Years later, fixing all of that costs more than the implant would have, which is a big part of why we wrote a companion article asking directly whether dental implants are worth it compared with bridges and dentures.

If you are still getting oriented, start with our plain language explainer on what dental implants are and how they work, then read the visit by visit walkthrough of the implant process so you know exactly what you would be signing up for. Our dental implants service page covers what we offer here in the office.

Get a Number You Can Actually Trust

Internet averages are not quotes, and quotes made without imaging are not promises. The way to end the guessing is a consultation: an exam, a scan, and a written plan that itemizes every stage with a real fee attached, plus a clear breakdown of what your insurance or Denti-Cal will contribute.

We have been giving Reseda, Tarzana, Northridge, Winnetka and Canoga Park families that kind of straight answer for years, and we are happy to give you one too. Call (818) 343-4024 or reach us through our contact page to schedule your implant consultation.
